Austin is pursuing a dual degree in Finance combined with an Honours degree in Economics at the University of Calgary. Austin has been investing in the equity markets for over 6 years. In his previous roles within the fund, Austin acted as an analyst and portfolio manager for the Financial Sector at DeNovo. Austin is interested in careers in investment banking, project finance, venture capital, and macroeconomic fields. Outside of school, Austin has been coaching a competitive freestyle ski team for the past 9 years. Additionally, he has 3 years of experience working in energy infrastructure. Austin loves to ski, read, and play the piano in his free time.

Justin is a 5th year Economics Major with a Concentration in Applied Energy Economics at the University of Calgary and is Denovo’s Head Economist. Justin’s research interests include fiscal and monetary policy, financial markets, energy policy, and natural resource economics, with a heightened interest in petroleum and natural gas markets. Justin has gained valuable experience as a Financial Analyst Intern with Inter Pipeline, and is joining BP upon graduation as part of Trading and Shipping Graduate Development program, with the Gas and Powers America Trading Team in Calgary. In his spare time, Justin is an avid skier, hiker, and outdoorsman who also has a passion for football, hockey, and baseball.

Hi everyone! My name is Cohen, and I am a 5th year Arts student, majoring in the Honours Economics program. This is my second year serving on the executive team as Vice-President of University Relations & Events, which involves maintaining a positive relationship with DeNovo and the Student’s Union, as well as helping plan events for our members to attend. I am also a member of the Economics team, a new team focused on analysing overall portfolio performance in relation to the broad market economy, as well as using Macroeconomic variables and indicators as tools to make sure that our portfolio is adequately prepared to deal with economic events. A fun fact about myself is I play guitar and bass in a few bands, and I am a bit of a music nerd. I am looking forward to another year of working with DeNovo and meeting you all in the upcoming semesters!
